Highway construction work is scheduled to begin April 1 on US-6 between the I-80

Interchange at Waverly to Greenwood, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Pavers, Inc., of Waverly, Nebraska has the $4,099,000 contract for the concrete

pavement repair, milling, asphalt overlay, bridge and traffic signal work.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during construction and controlled using flaggers and

a pilot car.  Except for some bridge deck repairs, traffic will be reduced to one lane and

controlled by temporary traffic signals at Reference Post 330.65.  In the multi-lane areas, single

lane closures will be used.

Motorists can expect delays and are urged to take an alternate route.  The work is

anticipated to be completed in late November, 2013.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Joe Kuehn of Lincoln.  Motorists are

reminded to drive cautiously through construction zones.
