Betty Jeanne Hall, 89, former Syracuse resident, died March 17, 2013 at Immanuel Campus of Care in Peoria, AZ. She was born August 25, 1923, the daughter of William Newton and Eliza (Steele) Horn in Greenville, Texas.
She was married to Robert “Bob” Hall on December 14, 1947 in Greenville, Texas. Bob was a pharmacist for over 50 years and died March 3, 2001 in Lincoln, NE.
Betty attended Greenville High School where she was a majorette in the famous Greenville Flashes. Her father passed when she was 15 years old. She and her mother moved to Dallas, Texas for several years and then back to Greenville. She worked in a pharmacy where she met Bob. She enjoyed modeling and dancing. They moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska where his family resided in 1959 and then to Syracuse in 1960. She and Bob belonged to the United Methodist Church in Syracuse. She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. After Bob’s death she moved to Arizona to be near her son Jack and his family.
Survivors include her daughter Lynnette and her son Jack who has two daughters and six grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family which included two sisters and a brother. She was cremated and her ashes will be interred on the Horn family plot in Greenville, Texas.
