Glen Clyde Baade, 71, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on March 14, 2013 from complications of ALS. He was born on Oct. 20, 1941.
Glen had the most vivacious personality and touched the lives of many. He was a man with a big heart and was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
He worked for Sampson Construction as a quality assurance director and was a sheet metal worker for many years.
Not only did he love to hunt, fish, camp, ride his Harley, and smoke his stogies, he was also very active as a coach for the Screamin’ Eagles fastpitch softball team. Glen very much enjoyed watching all of the activities and sports his children and grandchildren were involved in.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children Carla Evans (with husband Scott, and children Jacob and Cassandra), Erin Brandt (with husband Justin and children Tristan, Traeton, and Raegan), and Adam Lathrop (with Tara Miller); daughters from a previous marriage Denise, Joni, Lisa, and Aimee; sister Mary Jane VeRost (with husband Jim), his loving dogs Annie and Oakley, many extended family members, aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews, and several friends including Karla Ooton (his personal Guardian Angel).
He was preceded by parents Ruth and Clyde Baade.
Celebration of life services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Burial of ashes will held at a later date at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
