  • Robe Run scheduled for Mike Cozad benefit

  • Fabulous, astounding, amazing, fantastic, unthinkable and mind-boggling robes are encouraged for the first annual Mike Cozad cancer benefit on April 6.

    In addition to a poker run, where the best hand collected at several stops wins a prize, participants' robes will be judged for their splendor and originality.

    Cozad has been diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer.

    Cozad has been diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer.
    Start time is 11 a.m. at the Wagon Wheel in Nebraska City. The first stop is at BC Chaps in Sidney, Iowa, and onward to the Blue Moon in Hamburg. Next is TJ's in Brownville and the finish is at the West Central bar in Nebraska City.
    A free-will benefit dinner is scheduled at 6 p.m. at the Lineman. A silent auction, hour give-aways, split-pot raffles and a grand prize raffle of a flat screen TV are also planned.
