  • Give Lentils a try. Free recipe cards available!
  • By Jaclyn Kreifels

Looking for something new to cook?  Give lentils a try!  Lentils can provide great flavor that is not only
nutrient-dense and gluten free but also low on the glycemic index.  Lentils have little calories and are packed with
more fiber and protein than whole grains like brown or white rice.  Thanks to being nutrient dense, lentils can be considered
both a vegetable and protein; but not in the same meal!  And, since most Americans fail to get their daily amount
of fiber, it's another win as one serving of lentils can provide nearly half of the daily recommended allowance for fiber.
