City commissioners are expected to consider hiring architectural and engineering services for a speculative building at the new industrial site north of Nebraska City near the solid waste transfer station.
A 40,000-square-foot, steel framed building is proposed to provide prospective business and manufacturers a starting point in the city.
The issue of hiring an architect is scheduled at the city council meeting at 5:50 p.m. on Monday, March 4.
The proposed building would be located near G Road, north of a former residence.
City Clerk Arnold Ehlers said the plan is to build the shell of a building that could accommodate between one to five tenants.
Tenants would order flooring, plumbing and electrical configurations to meet their particular needs.
