  • Sheriff's office seeks vehicle suspected in pedestrian fatality near Auburn

  • The Nemaha County Sheriff's Office suspects at 69-year-old Auburn woman was struck by a vehicle and killed as she was heading to her mailbox.

    Authorities received a 911 call shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, and found Barbara Bolen near Highway 136 two miles east of Auburn.

    Authorities received a 911 call shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, and found Barbara Bolen near Highway 136 two miles east of Auburn.
    "She was apparently struck while going to her mailbox," the sheriff's office reports.
    The vehicle that struck Bohlen was not at the scene and the investigation to identify the the vehicle and driver is ongoing.
    The sheriff's office asks anyone with information to call 402-274-3139 or the Nebraska State Patrol at 402-471-4545.
