  • Ricky C. Barton, Sr., 58, died Feb. 20, 2013 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. He was born on Feb. 25, 1954 in Hamburg to Raymo and Ruth M. (Langston) Barton. He attended school in Riverton and later in Farragut, where he graduated in 1973. He served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1976.

  • Ricky C. Barton, Sr., 58, died Feb. 20, 2013 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. He was born on Feb. 25, 1954 in Hamburg to Raymo and Ruth M. (Langston) Barton. He attended school in Riverton and later in Farragut, where he graduated in 1973. He served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1976.
    He married Cheryl L. Basham on June 22, 1976 in Riverton.
    He was a member of the  Owner/Operator of Independent Drivers Association and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Nebraska City. He drove truck for many years and was currently working for Hendrickson Trucking in Hamburg.
    He is survived by wife Cheryl Barton of Riverton; son Ricky Calvin Barton II and significant other Tina Apperson of Riverton; daughter Jessica Lee Eaton and husband Terry of Riverton; seven grandchildren: Patrick, Ami, Taylor, Braydon, Jacob, Mackenzie and Victoria; siblings Dorothy Feil of Sidney, Donny Barton and wife Donna of Riverton, and Marlene Esser of Riverton; other family and friends.
    He was preceded by his parents, brother Wayne Barton in 1979; brothers-in-law Lee Feil and Steve Esser, nephews Pat and Mike Feil and Wayne Barton, Jr., and best friend Luther Hensley.
    Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Riverton Gym in Riverton with family friend Lynn Zuck presiding. Inurnment will follow in the Riverton Cemetery.   
    Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Doty, Tom Van, Charles Carlock, Mark Eisched, Don Jenning (in memory) and Luther Hensley (in memory).
    Following the graveside services, will be lunch and fellowship at the Riverton Community Building.
    Memorials may be given to St. Jude Research Hospital in his memory.
