  • Nebraska City residents are being asked to move cars parked on the streets to make way for snow plows.
Police Chief David Lacy said vehicles that have not been moved since the recent snowfall will be tagged beginning Saturday, Feb. 23.
Any vehicle that has not been moved may be towed beginning on Monday, Feb. 25.
Lacy said moving the cars allows street crews to clear away windrows of snow around the parked vehicles.
The weather forecast calls for a possibility of more snow next week.
The city has declared a snow emergency for Friday evening beginning at 9 p.m. to Saturday morning at 6 a.m.
Vehicles can not park on the streets in the downtown area where the snow has been windrowed to the center. Equipment will come in during the snow emergency hours to remove the snow.
Public Properties Director Dan Giittinger said parking is available in all the downtown City parking lots.
