  • After having their hearts broken in each of the last three games, the Peru State women’s basketball team will look to break their skid on Valentines’ Day.
    Peru State lost games last week against Culver-Stockton, Baker University and Missouri Valley.
    The Bobcats will play at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday against Benedictine College at Atchison, Kan. before returning home for a 2 p.m. Feb. 16 game against Avila University.
    Looking back at the last three games, Peru State lost to Missouri Valley, 58-52; Baker, 62-55, and Culver-Stockton, 76-71.
    Courtney Ward had 17 to lead the Bobcats against Missouri Valley, while Adaugo Osuala had 11 points. Osuala had a team-high 14 points and Jasmine Lockwood had 12 to lead the team against Baker. Osuala had 16 points to lead four in double figures for the Bobcats against Culver-Stockton. The other double-figure performers were Ayana Smith, 15; Ward, 15; and Lockwood, 13.
