The home gym atmosphere suited the Nebraska City wrestling team well for the Class B-1 District tourney on Friday and Saturday as the Pioneers came away with a tournament title.
Coach Tyler Hodges definitely appreciated the arrangement.
"It was a great atmosphere to wrestle in," said Hodges. "People stepped up and helped us. I think things were ran very smoothly. The beauty of it was when it came time for the tournament to start, I didn't have to do anything but coach. I had so many people helping me out. That was nice."
Nebraska City has two events left on its schedule, with the Nebraska State Wrestling Championships on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha and NSAA's first ever State Wrestling Dual event, which will be Feb. 23 at Kearney.
