  • Man charged with disabling train in Hamburg

  • Joseph Wendell Wilson, 27, of Rock Port, Mo., was arrested after he allegedly boarded a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train and disabled it.
    Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received a call Feb. 8 at approximately 8:49 a.m. from a railroad employee saying a man had boarded a train engine parked near the intersection of Main Street and Washington Street in Hamburg and was causing damage.
    Deputies found Wilson on the scene and took him into custody. Rail crew members said Wilson had boarded the train prior to their arrival, opened several engine compartments and disabled the train. Wilson was charged with trespassing. Further charges are pending.
