Three out of four basketball teams from Nebraska City posted wins in home games on Tuesday night.
The Lourdes girls’ basketball team battled back from down 24-15 with under six minutes left in the game to force overtime and eventually claim a 40-36 win over the Brownell-Talbot Raiders.
Three Knight boys finished in double figures to lead Lourdes past Brownell-Talbot in the nightcap by a final of 55-41.
And the Nebraska City girls’ basketball team claimed its second win of the year with a 40-29 decision against Falls City High School. Shady Hollesen had 18 and Andrea Freiling added nine to lead the Pioneers.
The Nebraska City boys’ basketball team kept its game against Falls City competitive into the third quarter before falling in a 53-38 decision. With the win, Falls City moved its season record to 19-3. Tanner Breazile led the Pioneers with 25 points.
