Anthony Joseph Lutz, 62, of Nebraska City died Jan. 30, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Nebraska City to Henry and Mary Catherine (Baker) Lutz. He graduated from Lourdes Central Catholic in Nebraska City in 1968. He served in the Navy from March 13, 1969 until his honorable discharge on Feb. 1, 1973.
When Anthony returned from his naval service he attended Peru State College, receiving his bachelors degree in business in 1978. He worked several years at Tri-Pac in Auburn and later selling Snowcats in McCook, Neb.
He is survived by his siblings: Mary Ann Lyons of Hamburg, Pat Lutz of Springfield, Mo., Carol Parkison and husband Ken of Eu Clair, Wis., Jackie McAlexander and husband Darrel of Sidney, Iowa, David Lutz of Sidney, and Charlene Stehlik and husband Fritz of Omaha; many nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents and brother Ralph Lutz.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg with Pastor Tom Beutler officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Hamburg American Legion Post immediately following the services.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Wyuka Cemetery at Nebraska City.
Memorials may be given to the Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department.
