Life in the house just isn't the same without Pam. No matter what situation we were put in, Pam just had a way of lifting the clouds and making you laugh. She is truly an inspirational person and I hope she is doing well at home.
We walk in from our first workout of the new week and we are STARVING! Me in particular because, since it seems like whatever I throw down the hatch gets thrown back up at me, I am not allowed to eat before a workout. So, I have not had any food, I have just gone through a Dolvett workout and I am not feeling nauseous anymore. To say that I was a little hungry would be to say that Gina tears up from time to time. It's an understatement.
But when we walk in to the house, we find that all of our food has been taken out and replaced by a note from Ali. We have to meet her at the store down the street and grocery shop on a budget. We each get $10/day for the next 7 days and we only have 15 minutes to get everything we may need. This is not the kind of thing you want to say to a bunch of hungry, heavy, food-addicts. Alison is lucky she didn't lose a hand.
Overall, the challenge was a success. Even though not everyone on every team got what they wanted, we still had plenty of food to survive. It just goes to show that you can eat healthy on a budget (even though it seems cheaper and easier to eat junk instead *cough* Pot Pies *cough*)
We finish shopping and it is right back to the grind. We already lost one teammate and we are not prepared to lose another. Dolvett knows that with a 3/4 winning streak, we have to push harder and eat better than we ever have before. And boy, does he push us! If I never see another sandbox in my life it will be too soon.
On a side note, I am so grateful that the show brought Nikki back for a little reveal scene. She looks absolutely stunning and I have to take my hat off to her. She lost 50 lbs all on her own. Don't get me wrong, what we do on the ranch is terribly difficult. But the real heroes are the ones who go home and continue to slaughter it. Good job, Nikki and TC. Keep up the good work.
Our challenge this week is a water one. In a pond (which by the way was teeming with sea life), each team had a fountain of their color. About 30 or 40 yards to the shore were 5lb gold coins. Each team was responsible for picking up 10 gold coins per person on their team and depositing it into the fountain.
The prize is a two parter: #1 The winner receives 10 free memberships to Planet Fitness to share with their friends and family. And #2 They get to choose between a phone call home OR a two pound advantage. Let me explain that again in bolded font so that you understand the gravity of the situation. The winner gets a two pound advantage on the scale!! As much as we all miss home, we are not in any hurry to get back. People have gone home because they were short of ONE pound at a weigh in. This is a HUGE prize.
Naturally, the former Water Polo superstar (Danni) wins it and pretty much garuntees her safety at the weigh-in. That's fine. It just means that the rest of us have to work 2 pounds harder than we would have before.
At the weigh-in, Red team kicks things off with a very impressive streak. We are throwing truly incredible numbers up on the board. Unfortunately, even though we had a great week, the other teams had even better weeks than us. Red Team lost the weigh-in and was forced to eliminate Lisa.
Eliminations never get any easier. Even if their not on your team, you still feel sad whenever someone leaves the house. Lisa was a really amazing, caring woman with a heart of gold. She was always there when you needed a shoulder to cry on or to give you that extra nudge when you were slacking off. We are going to miss her dearly.
