Pioneers set for EMC tourney

The Nebraska City girls' and boys' basketball teams will open tourney play in the Eastern Midlands Conference tournament this week.

Nebraska City, seeded No. 9 in the girls' bracket, will open play at 7 p.m. Monday at No. 8 Plattsmouth. The winner of that game will advance to play at No. 1 seed, Gretna, at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Semifinal action will be Thursday, Jan. 24, with the finals set for Friday, Jan. 25.

The Pioneer boys' basketball team, seeded No. 9, will open play at 7 p.m. Monday at No. 8 seed Elkhorn. The winner of that game will play at No. 1 Elkhorn South at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Semifinal action will be Thursday, Jan. 24, with the finals set for Friday, Jan. 25.
