  • Lunch with the Birds scheduled for second meeting Jan. 25

  • The "Lunch with the Birds" event at the MRB Lewis & Clark Center last Friday attracted 11 observers and dozens of birds.

    Susan Quinn reports that that 16 bird species were represented. The weather was perfect for observers inside the center and for the birds it was sunny, windy and about 50 degrees.

    Susan Quinn reports that that 16 bird species were represented. The weather was perfect for observers inside the center and for the birds it was sunny, windy and about 50 degrees.
    The next Lunch with the Birds event is scheduled Friday, Jan. 25, from noon until 1:00. Bird watchers are encouraged to bring their binoculars if they have them. They should bring a sack lunch if they want to eat at the center.
    The L & C Center is located in the bluffs along the Missouri River. Bird watchers will view the feeders, the nearby wooded areas, the bottom lands between the Nebraska and Iowa bluffs, and the Missouri River FROM WINDOWS INSIDE THE CENTER. Watchers will not be out in the cold.
