John T. Bohlen, 62, of Nebraska City, died Jan. 11, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. He was born on April 10, 1950 at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City to the late Ernest and Pauline (King) Bohlen. He married Donnalea Martinson on May 11, 1972 in Nebraska City.
He worked at the former Morton House Kitchens in Nebraska City then American Meter Company in Nebraska City as a die cast specialist for 40 years.
He is survived by wife Donnalea Bohlen of Nebraska City; children Willa DeHeer and husband Bill of Knoxville, Iowa, Christine Contreras and husband Sergio Contreras-Pina of Sidney, Iowa, Maurice Bohlen of Nebraska City and Jennifer Dominguez and husband Alfonso Dominguez-Murillo of Nebraska City; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Mary Bohlen of Nebraska City; sister Shirley Straw and husband Henry of Nebraska City; sister Susie McHenry of Marysville, Kansas; other family and many friends.
He was preceded by brother Sonny Bohlen.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City with Rev. Jaye Johnson officiating; burial will follow the services.
The family will greet friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. The casket will remain closed.
