Robert J. “Bob” Parker, 76, of Hamburg, formerly Omaha, died Jan. 8, 2013 at his home. Bob was born on May 15, 1936 in Brookings, S.D., to John F. and Dorothy L. (Jones) Parker.
He graduated from the former Tech High School in Omaha. He married Joan Bennett on May 25, 1957 in Clearfield, Iowa, and they had five children. The couple was later divorced. He married Sandy Conyers and they later divorced as well.
Over the years, Bob worked at various jobs including construction and truck driving. He also owned and operated a gas station in Omaha for many years.
He is survived by his five children: Carolyn Malmquist and husband Ron, Bill Parker and Larry Parker, all of Omaha, Karen Zuhlke and husband Ross of Sterling and Sharon Parker and her lifetime partner Frank Gardner of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; former wives: Joan Parker and Sandy Parker, both of Omaha; other family and friends.
He was preceded by sister June Marie Oknewski.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Graveside interment services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Brookings, S.D.
The family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday at Gude Mortuary.
