Jerry C. McCamish, 65, of Nebraska City, died Jan. 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on Jan. 29, 1947 in Hontubby, Okla., to Baxter and Gertrude (Oglesby) McCamish. He graduated from Heavener High School in Heavener, Okla.
He married Barbara A. Spidell on Dec. 17, 1966 in Omaha. She preceded him on Dec. 5, 2003.
Jerry was a heavy equipment operator for Kerr-McGee for many years. He also did roofing and had worked for Craig Beman Food Service in Nebraska City.
Jerry was one who loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved gardening and bird watching. One of his greatest loves was taking the grandkids camping.
He is survived by his children Toni Rowe of McCook, Donald McCamish of Gillette, Wyo., and Patrick McCamish of Nebraska City; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson; brothers Gary McCamish and wife Nancy of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Chad McCamish and wife Brenda of Sheridan, Wyo.; other family and many friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded by daughter Laura Godfrey on March 29, 2012 and a young sister.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. Norman Anderson officiating.
No visitation or viewing is scheduled.
