City adopts new firework stand fees to support community fireworks show

Local non-profit organizations will pay a fee of $250 for a fireworks stand.
Retailers and other organizations will pay $1,000. Previously, there was a $500 fee for all stands.

City officials said the fee structure encourages companies to associate with local non-profits when applying for stand permits.

City Clerk Arnold Ehlers said 75 percent of the fees collected go to support the fireworks show.
