Larry G. Panko, 68, of Syracuse, formerly of Lincoln, died at home surrounded by family on Jan. 2, 2013. He was born on Aug. 18, 1944 in Lincoln to Christian and Birdean (Carpenter) Panko. He married Beverly A. Hillman on May 28, 1964 at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in Rural Avoca.
Larry worked as a machinist his whole life before retiring in 2000. He also was a former member of Southwood Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Larry is survived by wife Beverly A. Panko of Syracuse; son Jeffrey A. and Cheryl Panko of Otoe; daughter Jenniffer A. Panko-Rahe and Larry Rahe, Jr. of Syracuse; grandchildren Christian, Hannah and Lauren Panko and Colton and Mira Rahe; sisters Ruth and Dubby Boone of Eagle and Jeanie and Arlan Witt of Texas; and brother-in-law Ronald and Kathy Hillman of Otoe.
He was preceded by his parents, brother Donald Panko, parents-in-law Harold and Lorene Hillman, and brother-in-law James Hillman.
Funeral services were Jan. 5 at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in Rural Avoca with Rev. Bill Dressen officiating.
Burial was at the First Lutheran Cemetery (North Branch) in Rural Avoca.
Family suggests memorials to the First Lutheran Church (North Branch).
