Eva Marion Eaton, 93, of Nebraska City died at The Ambassador in Nebraska City on Jan. 4, 2013. She was born Aug. 21, 1919 at Union to Charles E. and Hazel R. (Ervin) Cogdill. She married Louis V. Eaton April 12, 1941 at Plattsmouth.
She is survived by daughters Marion Millet of Lincoln and Donna Daniels and husband Robert of Kingwood, Texas; son Charles Eaton and wife Sharon of Sidney, Iowa; grandchildren Bret Millet and wife Rajeshree, Rene’ Millet, Terry Eaton and wife Jessie, Christina Scharfen and husband David, John Eaton and wife Jennifer, Trey Gress and Trenton Gress; great grandchildren Karishma and Ishani Millet, Taylor and Victoria Eaton, Aurora Gress, Kaiden Scharfen and Jaxon Scharfen; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her husband on July 2, 1973 and brother Elmer W. Cogdill.
She lived on farms near Nehawka and Union for many years before moving to Nebraska City in 1960. Eva worked on the farm with her husband and also worked for many years as a ward clerk for St. Mary’s Hospital. She had also worked at Pendleton’s and as a dental assistant at one time.
She was a member of Community of Christ Church, Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and spending time with family. Eva was known for her wonderful apple pies, and she loved sending cards to friends and family.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Elder James Carson officiating. Burial is at East Union Cemetery – Union.
Memorials are suggested to her church.
