Marie S. McVay, 100, of Nebraska City died at The Ambassador in Nebraska City Jan. 5, 2013. She was born Oct. 6, 1912 at Union to Charles and Constance (Eaton) Moore. She married Harry McVay Nov. 15, 1933 at Omaha.
She is survived by son Charles L. McVay and wife Janet of Union; daughter Harriet Anderson of Auburn; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her husband in 1980, sister Charlotte and brothers Les, Wayne, Carl and Hubert.
She lived in the Nebraska City and Union area most of her life. She worked as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes including the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, gardening and watching television. She also enjoyed her house pets, including her dogs Chewy and Lillie.
Private family graveside services will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Nehawka.
A memorial fund was established.
