Beth L. Fox, 81, of Kearney, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. She was born on Oct. 8, 1931 in Shelton to Floyd and Clara (Pope) Hogg. She was raised north of Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School in 1949. She moved to Kearney in 1951 and to Greeley, Colo., in 1974.
She married Gerald F. Fox on May 21, 1980 in Georgetown, Colo. The couple moved back to Kearney shortly after being married. Beth taught country school for three years and then worked at Montgomery Ward for over 28 years.
She enjoyed needlework, crossword puzzles, painting and crafts and also collecting spoons and teddy bears.
Beth is survived by step-son Randall Fox and wife Cyndi of Nebraska City; step-daughter Connie Fox of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
