I was born and raised in Nebraska city and attended three grade schools..the old Southside School just over the viaduct on south 11th st..where a church now stands. attending first and second grade there, being taught by Addie (Hall) Brandorff..first  and second grade was on the main floor and third and fourth downstairs..if you lived west of the school, you went thru an underpass on busy highway 75...My mom and i lived ina duplex where the car wash now stands..

I attended Second Avenue grade school thru 3rd grade and finished my elementary education at 14th st school, where the new Hayward school now stands...my teachers there were Miss  Windsor; Mrs Wright and Miss Strobel..In the sixth grade we put on an operetta entitled "the Early Bird Catches the Worm", for the school student body and parents.
