  • Frosted windshield blamed for accident near high school

  • A frosted windshield is blamed for a two-car collision near the Nebraska City High School parking lot Tuesday morning.

    A Pontiac Grand Am driven was south on Steinhart Park Road while a Pontiac Bonneville was crossing the street toward the entrance of the parking lot.

    A Pontiac Grand Am driven was south on Steinhart Park Road while a Pontiac Bonneville was crossing the street toward the entrance of the parking lot.
    The windshield of the Grand Am was mostly frosted over, although there was a space scraped away on the driver's side.
    Nebraska City Fire and Rescue extricated a passenger from the Bonneville. The passenger and the driver of the Grand Am were taken to the hospital.
    Police Chief David Lacy said all of the young people were talking to firefighters and EMTs on the scene.
    The collision forced both cars off of the roadway. Once car slammed into a nearby utility pole.
