Reva M. Berthold of Nebraska City, 84, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at St. Mary’s Com-munity Hos-pital in Nebraska City. Reva M. Yeager was born on Feb. 27, 1928, in Grubville, Mo., to David Orian and Emma Maude (Townsend) Yeager.
After graduation from Nebraska City High School in 1945, Reva and Erwin Berthold were married July 6, 1945, in Hiawatha, Kan. Reva attended college in Denver, Colo., to become a floral designer and then returned to Nebraska City to work in the family business, Berthold Florist and Green House. Reva was known as one of the best designers and arrangers in the business.
She and Erwin retired in 1983. Reva was involved in many different organizations, which included the Elks, Eagles and the Woman’s Division of the Bethel United Church of Christ. She loved being with family and her grand and great-grandchildren.
Reva was preceded by her husband on Oct. 9, 2007; daughters Linda Hobbie on Nov. 27, 1992 and Susan Fleck on Nov. 27, 1992; grandsons Shane Fleck on Nov. 28, 1992 and Adam Hobbie on Feb. 10, 1994.
Survivors include her son, Gary and wife Mary Ellen Berthold of Kansas City, Mo.; grandsons Scott and wife Robin Berthold, Randall and wife Missy Berthold, and Jason and wife Beth Fleck; granddaughter Kelly Lynn and husband James Fairbanks; 12 great grandchildren; sister Mina F. Yeager of Nebraska City; son-in-laws Jack and wife Peggy Hobbie of Nebraska City and Bill and wife Sharon Fleck; brother-in-law Art Berthold of Lincoln; nieces and nephews; cousins and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. until service time at Peterson Mortuary in Nebraska City.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at Peterson Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City with the Rev. Roger Good of the Bethel United Church of Christ of Nebraska City officiating. Burial will follow at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
Pallbearers will be Gary Berthold, Randall Berthold, Richard Berthold, Scott Berthold, James Fairbanks, Kelly Fairbanks, Jason Fleck, Jack Hobbie, and John Stites.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska City Alumni Foundation for scholarships.
