  • Fog is blamed for an accident near highways 2 and 43 Dec. 3 one mile west of Palmyra.
A 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Joann M. Brockhoff, 81, of Syracuse struck the trailer on a 2005 Kenworth dump truck driven by Patrick R. Griepenstroh, 63, of Syracuse.
The dump truck was turning from Highway 2 on to Highway 43 when it was struck by the westbound Taurus.
Sheriff’s deputies say dense fog contributed to the accident at 7:50 a.m. Fog also made it difficult for traffic control as deputies attempted to prevent further collisions of westbound traffic.
    Injuries to Brockhoff were reported.
