Luvona E. Moore, 84, of Hamburg died Nov. 29, 2012 at the Ambassador -Sidney. She was born on Nov. 20, 1928 in Adams County to William and Zola L. (Harrick) Hewitt.
She married Harold Burton “Bus” Moore on March 23, 1946 in Corning.
Luvona worked at the former Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg and at the Grape Community Hospital in the Respiratory Therapy Department. She also worked for many years helping with the farming, and cooking and bartending at various bars as well as caring for the elderly. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by sons Gary B. Moore and wife Diane of Goodman, Mo., Randy L. Moore and wife Colleen of Hamburg, Monty R. Moore and wife Janet of Rock Port, Mo., Gregory D. Moore and wife Terri of Hamburg, and Rodney D. Moore of Hamburg; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; sister Nadine Johnson and husband Wayne of Villisca; other family and many friends.
She was preceded by her husband on Feb. 18, 2010, brother Robert Hewitt and sisters Ruth Hollan and Phyllis Siedler.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at the United Trinity Church in Hamburg with Rev. Dan Voigt officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
No visitation or viewing is scheduled.
Memorials may be given to Hamburg Rescue.
