William E. “Willie” Perkins, 79, of Nebraska City, formerly Hamburg, Iowa, died Nov. 27, 2012 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. Willie was born on April 9, 1933 in Riverton, Iowa, to George and Sylvia (Holt) Perkins.
Willie had worked at Otoe Concrete, Morton House Kitchens, and Ocoma Foods, all in Nebraska City, and the former Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg.
He is survived by niece Debbie Oberle of Jesup, Iowa; nephew Kevin Perkins of Houston, Texas; and step-nephew Steve Barrett of Billingham, Wash.; and many, many friends.
He was preceded by brothers George Perkins, Jr. and Lawrence Perkins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at Gude Mortuary with Pastor Larry Mullins and Steve Johnson officiating. Immediately following the funeral services at approximately 2:15 p.m., the funeral procession will proceed up Central Avenue in Nebraska City from 6th to 11th St. to honor Willie. Business owners and friends are encouraged to line Central Avenue in remembrance.
Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery at Riverton.
Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Gude Mortuary.
Memorials may be given to Nebraska City Rescue or Hamburg Rescue.
