Shirley Harms, 77, of Syracuse died at Community Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, on Nov. 24, 2012. She was born Dec. 13, 1934 to Winfred and Marie (Teten) Holscher . She married Dale E. Harms May 16, 1956 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.
She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1952.
She is survived by children Kyle Anderson and husband David of Syracuse and Kim Randall and husband Kevin of Bennet; seven grandchildren: Lindsey Klassen, Tyson and Molly Hermann, Shawn Hermann and fiancé Brittny Murphy, Adam Anderson, Adam and Stephanie Randall, Angela Randall, and Ashley and Jim Field; 13 great grandchildren; sister Phyllis Gaedke and Bill of Clovis, N.M.; sister-in-law Dolores Holscher of Lincoln; brother-in-law Jim Harms of Reno, Nev.; sister-in-law Delores Cloyed and Norman of Lincoln; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded by her husband Dale E. Harms, brother LaVern Holscher and sister Janice Lea Genthe.
She worked for OPPD for over 40 years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) where she was active with the Ladies Group and American Legion Auxiliary Post #100 of Syracuse. She enjoyed singing and listening to music and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) – rural Syracuse with Rev.Glatha Rathjen officiating.
Pallbearers are Jody Hermann, Larry Genthe, Ron Genthe, Kirk Holscher, Mike Jones and Mike Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers are Lindsey Klassen, Tyson Hermann, Shawn Hermann, Adam Anderson, Adam Randall, Angela Randall and Ashley Field.
Burial is at Park Hill Cemetery – Syracuse.
Organist is Lois Linke and vocalist is Carlene Keim.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
