Nebraska City firefighters extinguished a fire in the home of Tim and Amanda Collman at 1520 Fourth Ave. on Saturday.
The couple, their three children, Trevin, 7; Ava, 5; and Carsin, 2; escaped unharmed.
Firefighters estimated fire and smoke damage at $130,000.
The fire started in bushes and the front deck. It spread to the exterior of the house, attic and roof. It then spread to the interior of the structure.
Four units and 16 firefighters responded, returning to the station after two hours.
First responders assisted the family to locate emergency services. The family stayed with relatives on Saturday night.
