    Peru State rallied from down 16 points to force a tie in football action against Avilla College last Saturday.
    Avilla built a 13-0 lead by halftime and was ahead 16-0 with 9:28 to go in the third quarter.
    Peru State answered with a scoring drive capped by a two-yard run by Ryan Ludlow and the Avilla lead was reduced to 16-7.
    A shanked punt set up another Peru State touchdown as Brandon Dinslage took a pitch from quarterback Bo Sheppard and rushed 22 yards to the end zone. And Peru State drew to within two points at 16-14.
    Peru State took a 21-16 lead on a scoring drive aided by a pass interference call and capped by a 17-yard touchdown run on an option play by Sheppard.
    Avilla reclaimed the lead with an 78-yard scoring drive and a two-point play to lead 24-21.
    Peru State got a 66-yard kick return by Garret Campbell and Levi Cockle kicked a 28-yard field goal to tie the game at 24-24 and force overtime.
    Ludlow's six-yard touchdown run and an interception by Curtis Larsen on the Bobcats' on Avilla's next possession ended the game and gave the Bobcats a 31-24 win.
    With the victory, Peru State closed out its season with a mark of 5-6 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
    Basketball
    After suffering a loss in their first game on Friday night, the Bobcat women's basketball team came back with an upset win on Saturday at the Midland University Classic.
    Friday night, Peru State lost to Jamestown College, 72-61. On Saturday, the team came back with an 80-69 win over the tourney hosts.
    The Peru State men topped the University of St. Mary 86-84 in overtime on Saturday at the KCAC/HAAC classic tourney.
    With the win, the Peru State team pulled their tourney record even at 1-1. The Bobcats lost to Ottawa University on Friday.
