  • A Nov. 15 recount is scheduled to determine a winner of the write-in campaigns for Otoe village board.
There were three open seats on the board, but no candidates. Voters wrote in over 30 names and the top two were Ralph Edwards with 28 votes and Peggy Boldt with 12.
There is a tie for the third seat with Mike Cardinal and Ron Stachura each receiving 10 votes.
Election Commissioner Janene Bennett wrote both candidates a letter inviting them to attend an automatic recount at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
If there is still a tie after the recount, she said, the candidates or their representative will draw cards. The high card will win election.
Also receiving votes were Lori Barrett, Jamie Sherman, Darrell Cumpton, Michelle Hutchison and Bonita Thummel.
