The Nebraska City Board of Adjustments voted 5 to 0 to grant a variance to Graham's Salvage.
The Nebraska City Planning Commission requires a fence around the salvage operation as city codes requires it to be screened from adjacent city streets.
The board of adjustments agreed that the Gary Graham does not need to screen the operation from motorists or pedestrians on the 11th Street viaduct, which arches over the property.
Zoning Administrator Dan Giittinger told the board that it appears the viaduct provides a legitimate geographical situation to warrant a variance.
Attorney Richard Hoch represented Graham at the hearing.
