Lorraine Maxine (Balfour) Redden, 82, of Plattsmouth died in Auburn on Oct. 30, 2012. She was born Aug. 31, 1930 in Omaha to William and Dorothy (Myers) Balfour.
She married Kenneth Eugene Redden of Murray on Oct. 28, 1949 in Omaha.
She is survived by daughter Gayle Hunsicker and husband Keith of Waterville, Kan.; son Kenneth Redden and wife Judy of Shawnee, Kan.; grandchildren Adam Redden and wife Joanna of Lenexa, Kan., Stuart Redden of Shawnee, Mitchell Redden of Shawnee, Travis Hunsicker of Manhattan, Kan., and Karri Hunsicker of Marysville, Kan.; great-grandchildren Jack and Charll Redden of Lenexa; sister Virginia Wintz of Auburn and brother-in-law Albert Johnson of Plattsmouth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded by her husband, daughter Joyce Redden, grandson Jonathan Redden, brothers Marvin and Billy Balfour and sister Judith (Balfour) Johnson.
She graduated from Union High School in 1947 and secretarial school. She worked for an attorney in Nebraska City. After raising her children she worked at Nehawka Farmers Co-op for many years, Trump Manufacturing as a bookkeeper and retired from the Plattsmouth Journal after 15 years as circulation manager. She lived in Omaha, Nehawka, Dunbar, and Nebraska City before moving to Plattsmouth in 1977.
Funeral services were Nov. 2 at Roby Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating.
Pallbearers were Travis Hunsicker, Mitchell Redden, Ryan Johnson, Stuart Redden, Adam Redden and Bob Wintz. Burial was at Cowles Hill Cemetery in Union.
Memorials are suggested to the Plattsmouth Rescue Squad or American Cancer Society.
Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth was in charge of arrangements.
