Cora A. (Vollmann) Griffee, 73, of Nebraska City died Nov. 1, 2012 at the Independence Autumn House in Lincoln. She was born on July 31, 1939 in Lynchburg, Va., to Cary and Patricia (Martin) Campbell. She married Herman Vollmann in May of 1958 and they later divorced, but remained friends through the years. She married William Griffee in September of 1988 in Rifle, Colo., and he preceded her in death.
Cora was a CNA. She worked at various nursing homes in California, Colorado and Nebraska City. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Nebraska City.
She is survived by her children Cathy Densberger and husband Ralph of Lincoln, Brenda Doty and husband Mark of Rifle, Colo., Herman Vollmann, Jr. of Omaha, Cindy Summers and husband Gary of Lincoln, and Tammy Wynia and husband John of Rifle; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Rebecca Cole of Nebraska City and Ruby Lowe of Evansville, Ind.; other family and friends.
In addition to her husband William Griffee, she was preceded by a sister, three brothers, son Ricky and two grandchildren.
Memorial services are at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Pastor Terry Duffy of the Nebraska City Church of Christ officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Independence Autumn House in Lincoln or Golden Living Care Center in Nebraska City.
