Dean Philip Kraft, 86, of Syracuse died Oct. 31, 2012 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Society. He was born on Feb. 21, 1926 in Lincoln to Philip and Gladys (West) Kraft.
Dean grew up around Cook and later moved to Syracuse. He worked as a farmer and also was a truck driver for many years. Dean joined the Army and served from 1950 to 1952. He was active in the VFW Post #5547 in Syracuse including playing Santa Claus at the Legion Club. He loved to play cards and visiting with his family and friends.
Dean is survived by sister Ruth Johnson of Omaha; nephew Don and Petey Dorr of Harrisburg, Pa.; nieces Elaine and David Dyke of Lincoln, Kathy and Bill Clary of Dallas, Texas, and Sue Johnson of Alexandria, Va.; and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded by sister Marjorie Dorr and brothers-in-law Russell Dorr and Don Johnson.
Funeral services were Nov. 3 at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Syracuse with Father Michael Stec and Rev. Mary Grundman officiating.
Burial was at the Park Hill Cemetery.
