It's getting to be that time in college football again.
For the last few weeks of the season, football fans begin to pay attention to what each win or loss across the college football landscape and ponder its impact on match ups for the postseason.
Nebraska fans would love the Huskers to take the Big 10 title, their first conference crown in over a decade. And what better way to celebrate than to take on Oklahoma. That's right, the battle of the Big Red teams at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
Winner gets a trophy and long term bragging rights in the rivalry.
Now those are some stakes to get behind.
Some models have suggested undefeated Kansas State could meet unbeaten Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
Louisville is unbeaten and Boise State has been mentioned as an at-large team.
Where will they land?
It would be nice to see the Huskers battled Boise State or maybe we could see a Bo Pelini defense versus Shawn Watson offense with a Nebraska-Louisville match up.
Notre Dame could be the in the Rose Bowl. That would be just fine as well.
Big 10 contenders?
Nebraska seems to be in the driver's seat of the Legends Division after beating Michigan.
Thanks to Ohio State and because of Ohio State.
That's the nature of things in the Big 10.
Had the Huskers beaten Ohio State, a win against Michigan would have nearly assured a divisional title.
Nebraska didn't. And so there is uncertainty.
Welcome to a league where any team can beat any other team.
In the event that the Huskers drop one of the next four games, Nebraska will adore the team they cursed earlier this year.
Ohio State might beat Michigan in the final week of the season, and by doing so, the Buckeyes could send the Huskers to the Big 10 title game.
In one scenario, a Penn State win over Nebraska sends Michigan to the title game if the Wolverines beat Ohio State.
That's far from the only scenario.

Iowa loses to Indiana, but rebounds with three straight wins over Purdue, Michigan and Nebraska to get to 7-5 overall.
Nebraska loses to Michigan State.
Michigan loses to Ohio State.
Northwestern loses to Michigan and Michigan State.
And Iowa wins the Legends division at 7-5.
Wisconsin loses to Indiana, Ohio State and Penn State.

Indiana "wins" the Leaders Division and backs into the title game at 5-7.
Indiana would have beaten Iowa once before. So it could surely happen again in the Big 10 title game.
Certainly the Big 10 would be proud to send a 6-7 Indiana team to the Rose Bowl to face an undefeated Oregon team that was turned away from the BCS title game. Right?
The Ducks would be waiting in the Rose Bowl if Kansas State or Notre Dame ended up playing Alabama for the national title.
