Cynthia M. Owen, 68, of Hamburg, died Oct. 22, 2012 at her home. She was born on Feb. 17, 1944 in Denver, Colo., to Henry Dwinger and Francis (Homedale) Dwinger. She attended school in Rock Port, Mo., and Ava, Mo.
She married J.D. Owen on Dec. 16, 1960 in rural Hamburg and the couple shared over 51 years of their lives together.
Cynthia worked for EXCEL/Cargill in the Meat Packing Industry for 30 years at Phelps City, Mo., and Nebraska City. Most recently, she worked at the ConAgra Popcorn Factory in Hamburg for 10 years before her health declined.
She is survived by husband J.D. Owen of Hamburg; children Jannifer Davis and husband John of Republic, Mo., and Kenneth Owen of Omaha; six grandchildren: Joseph, Jill and Jacob Davis, all of Republic, Alicia Ketchum and husband Mark of Gretna, Neb., Addison Morong of Omaha and Chloe Owen of Omaha; sisters Grace Clawson and husband Larry of Larned, Kan., and Gail Dwinger of Elk City, Okla.; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Banes.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the United Methodist Church in Hamburg with Pastor James Young officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery northeast of Hamburg.
