  • Timothy E. Adkins, 64, of Urbana, Mo., formerly Nebraska City, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at his son’s home in Grand Island. Tim was born on Jan. 11, 1948 in Nebraska City to Lloyd M. and Beatrice Colleen “Sis” (Williamson) Adkins.

  • Timothy E. Adkins, 64, of Urbana, Mo., formerly Nebraska City, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at his son’s home in Grand Island. Tim was born on Jan. 11, 1948 in Nebraska City to Lloyd M. and Beatrice Colleen “Sis” (Williamson) Adkins.
    He graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1966 then joined the Air Force, serving honorably for four years.
    He then worked at a civil service job in California as an airplane mechanic. He later moved back to Nebraska City and did construction work and was a carpenter.
    He married Kathy L. Cascio on May 29, 1987 in Nebraska City. He was a member of the D.A.V. and a former member of the Nebraska City Eagles.
    He is survived by his wife, Kathy Adkins of Urbana, Mo.; sons Timothy E. Adkins, Jr. and fiancé Heather of Grand Island and Lloyd Adkins and Brian Adkins, both of Florida; step-children Michael Shane Seager and wife Tiffany of Omaha, Cheryl Henry of Odessa, Mo., and Bo James Seager of Urbana; 12 grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; sister Sandy Wurtele and husband Tim of Syracuse; nephews Tim Wurtele, Jr., and wife Lisa, Clint Wurtele and wife Christy and Monty Wurtele and wife Maggie, all of Millard; other family and friends.
    He was precededby his parents.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City. Inurnment will be at Wyuka Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m. with military services conducted by Offutt AFB Honor Guard.
    Memorials may be given to the family.
