Betty M. Mullins, 90, of Hamburg (formerly Aurora, Colo.) died Oct. 7, 2012. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Danville, Ill., to Everett and Neva (Olmstead) Bales.
She graduated from Danville High School then worked as a telephone operator.
She married Chester Munroe Mullins on Aug. 23, 1941 at Danville.
The couple moved to Indiana and later to Florida where Betty continued as a telephone operator at the Orange Memorial Hospital. In 1966, Chester and Betty moved to Hamburg and she worked at the Hamburg Post Office for several years. Later, the couple relocated to Aurora where they became active members of The Church in Aurora and Betty served as church secretary and organist.
She is survived by her children: Linda Paul and husband Terry of Parker, Colo., Chester Mullins and wife Kim of Richmond, Va., and Cheryl Sheldon and husband Steven of Hamburg; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
She was preceded by her husband on July 21, 2006 and grandson Kyle Mullins.
Graveside services were Oct. 12 at the Sidney Cemetery in Sidney. Terry Paul and Chester Mullins officiated.
Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg was in charge of arrangements.
