The Nebraska City softball team fell in first round action of the district tournament at Beatrice, but rebounded in game two on Thursday.

The Pioneers' district tournament ended in its third game of Thursday as the Pioneers lost to Lincoln Pius X by a final of 13-2.
With a win against Lincoln Pius X Thursday night, the Pioneers would have advanced to play in a 10 a.m. game on Friday. A victory in the 10 a.m. game, plus subsequent wins in the 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. contests would have been required to send the Pioneers to the state tournament.
Crete is scheduled to play Beatrice at 10 a.m. Friday with the winner advancing to the 2 p.m. contest and having two chances to advance to the state tournament.
