Karl F. Neumeister, 83, of Nebraska City, formerly of Weeping Water, died Sept. 29, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Nebraska City. He was born in Weeping Water March 3, 1929 to Harry and Phyllis (Allgayer) Neumeister. He married Doris Nichelson March 7, 1950 at Nebraska City. They were later divorced.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1952- 1954 of which one year was served overseas in Germany.
He farmed all of his life on a farm in rural Cass County and was also employed by Cass County Roads Department, from 1962- 1991 when he retired.
He was a member of VFW Post #9099 and American Legion #237 at Weeping Water and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 at Plattsmouth.
Karl is survived by daughter Kay Neumeister of Nebraska City; sons Karl D. (Jean) Neumeister of Nehawka, Roy (Brenda) Neumeister of Avoca, Del (Sue) Neumeister of Belle Fourche S.D., and Floyd (Anne) Neumeister of Nebraska City; 25 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct. 3, at First Congregational Church, Weeping Water, with Del Neumeister officiating. Vocalist is Annette Erhart.
Pallbearers are Karl Neumeister Jr., Nathan Neumeister, Corey Neumeister, Kevin Neumeister, Joey Neumeister, Bennett Neumeister, Arley Jones, Kyle Neumeister, Eric Neumeister and Shawn Miller.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Interment is at Avoca Cemetery with military honors by Nebraska Army National Guard.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Hammons Family Funeral Services of Weeping Water is in charge of arrangements.
