  • President Barack Obama and Nebraska Gov. Dave Heinemann have signed proclamations to have all U.S. and Nebraska flags flown at half-staff as a sign of respect for the memory of Neil Armstrong on the day of his interment. Flags will be flown at half-staff on Friday, September 14, 2012, until sunset. Additionally,they announced all U.S. and Nebraska flags should be flown at half-staff as a sign of respect for the memory of John Christopher Stevens, United States Ambassador to Libya, and American personnel killed in the attack on the diplomatic facility in Benghazi. Flags will be flown at half-staff on Sunday, September 16, 2012, until sunset.
