  • Trixy Lee (Lewis) Ziemann, 65, died on her birthday, Sept. 9, 2012, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 9, 1947, to Glenn and Leona (Lemka) Lewis in Nebraska City. She graduated from Syracuse High School.

  • Trixy Lee (Lewis) Ziemann, 65, died on her birthday, Sept. 9, 2012, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 9, 1947, to Glenn and Leona (Lemka) Lewis in Nebraska City. She graduated from Syracuse High School.
    She was one of the hardest hitting softball playing tomboys, who grew up to be a loving wife and mother.
    She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Unadilla. She was an employee of State Farm Insurance for 43 years, ending her career as an underwriting superintendent. She was well liked and regarded by everyone. Trixy and Russell made their home the family hub to everyone. Christmas was their favorite holiday where they hosted the family Christmases for many years, with excessive amounts of decorations, food and gifts. Their generosity knew no bounds.
    She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Darin and Michele and Shane and Stacy, all of Syracuse; mother Leona Lewis of Unadilla; brothers and sisters Tom and Jo Lewis, Unadilla, Jack Lewis, Unadilla, Jerry and Carol Lewis of West Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy and Arlan Liesemeyer of Unadilla, and Sally and Lloyd Peterson of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded by husband Russell and father Glenn Lewis.
    Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. Graveside services will be at Unadilla Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, or Cedars Children’s Home.
    Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
