  • Discovery Adventure of St. Charles, Mo., recently docked at Nebraska City where students attended stations depicting life for the Lewis & Clark Expedition in 1804-1806.
Captain Tom Ronk landed two pirouges at Riverview Marina State Recreation Area on Sept. 5 and ordered a scout team to go ashore.
The following morning, about 300 hundred students from Nebraska City and Auburn, visited camp stations.
Stations included military weapons and clothing, expedition medicine, rope making, shooting demonstration and fire starting.
The Missouri River Basin Lewis & Clark Interpretation Center and Walmart presented the group with a check for financial support.
Ronk said the Discovery Adventure has made similar trips on the Missouri River since the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, including stops at Nebraska City in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
