  • Captain Tom Ronk reported that the Discovery Adventure of St. Charles, Mo., docked safely this morning at Riverview Marina State Recreation Area in Nebraska City.
Cpt. Ronk and a crew of 12 explorers arrived in two keel boats with sails withdrawn. The cannon was not fired and the captain immediately permited the crew to go ashore.
The public is invited to view the keelboats and talk to the crew at 6 p.m. today.
There are historic re-enactment stations planned on Wednesday, Sept. 5., when about 370 school kids are expected to visit.
Stations include tonic and medicines of 1804, military weaopns, rope making and trade goods.
Ronk said the Discovery Adventure has made similar trips on the Missouri River since the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, including stops at Nebraska City in2004, 2005 and 2006.
