  • AppleJack visitors and Nebraska City residents of all ages are invited to compete in the first Seven Feathers District Rock, Paper,  Scissors Tournament scheduled in conjunction with the classic car show in downtown Nebraska City on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Registrations for $10 will begin at noon and competition is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
The tournament is a fundraiser for the Seven Feathers District of the Cornhusker Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Iwill follow the American rules established the U.S. Rock, Paper, Scissors League.
A double-elimination tournament is planned with best out of three matches for throws.
William M. Cover, Seven Feathers district executive, said the contemporay throws of lizard, Spock and dynamite will not be allowed in the tournament.
He said the AppleJack tournament is a first for both the district and the festival. The scouts hope a successful tournament will inspire other tournaments through the year.
"We expect to hold tournaments in each of the seven counties we serve," Cover said.
The district covers the seven counties of Cass, Otoe, Johnson, Nemaha, Richardson, Pawnee and Gage, as well as the Ashland Greenwood community.
